Hi all! I just wanted to make a quick (and final) update to tell you guys that I won't be blogging on onsugar anymore. Reason being that I'm really nowhere as passionate about beauty as some of the other girls on here, and you guys should follow the bloggers who actually bother to update lol. I enjoyed these few months on onsugar though, it's been fun and I've learnt quite a bit about makeup (although I honestly don't know what I'm doing when it comes to beauty stuff). So I just wanna say thanks to everybody who followed my blog for so long, and I wish you beauty gurus in the making all the best :D I've met a lot of wonderful people on here and I don't regret starting this (quite pathetic) blog haha. I'm a singer, not a guru at all :X

Hugs to all you wonderful girls out there and stay beautiful!

Helloo! This is going to be my last update for a while, coz in the next 2 weeks I have a LOT of deadlines/exams and I haven't started on my assignments...SIGH. Don't know why I'm such a slacker this semester :( ANYWAY, I went to the mall with my mum today coz she wanted to exchange her 6 empty foundation compact cases for a MAC lipstick. She'd already purchased an Estee Lauder lipstick in Langkawi Airport on Monday so she said that she'd give me the MAC one! You can imagine how ecstatic I was, I've been watching all these youtube beauty gurus for over a year and I wanted to increase my collection so badly (I only have one MAC item so far, an eyeshadow and that's it). So this is a good start, my first MAC lipstick :D:D

I really like this lipstick :) The makeup artist who assisted me wasn't very friendly though, she gave off this aura of "Dude just pick your lipstick and get out of here already!" so that wasn't very pleasant, but thankfully I ended up loving the colour a lot! Looks natural enough to wear to class too.

Oh and btw the eyeliner was drawn by this Empro makeup artist when I wanted to try out their eyeliners and their famous triangular eyebrow pencil. I was amazed at how she managed to draw the eyeliner so close to my lashline!! It was literally ON my eyelashes haha. I could never do that, my eyeliner's always very wonky xD

Enjoy the rest of February guys :) mwah!

Back from Langkawi!

Hello people! Wow I just noticed that I have 24 followers now! Thanks a lot guys :D Anyway I've been so busy with uni and stuff, I just came back from my CNY holiday in Pulau Langkawi, and I'm a shade darker from all the swimming in the sea and outdoor activity haha! I'm putting together a video of all the combined clips that I filmed whilst I was there, so once it's up on youtube I'll link it here :)

I'm honestly too swamped with work to spend time resizing photos and stuff so I'm just gonna stick with the video aite? (Although that's kinda contradictory since I shouldn't even be editing the video in the first place if I didn't have time but whatever)

To my Chinese readers, GONG XI FA CAI, GONG HEI FATT CHOI, XIN NIAN KUAI LE, SAN LIN FAI LOK, blablabla. Sorry I'm horrible with Cantonese and Mandarin so...yeah xD. To the rest of you, hope you enjoyed your holiday and don't feel too sad about getting back to work coz I'm in the same boat and I'm just as miserable as you are so yeah you're not aloneeeeeee!

As some of you may know by now, I was the 3rd randomly picked international winner for Sara@icyabstract's giveaway contest. Xie xie once again to Sara for the opportunity, this is my first time entering a contest and I honestly didn't expect to win at all, so thank you dear :D! And a huge thanks to Velvut for providing the awesome hairbrushes for the giveaway! My package from Singapore was finally delivered to my humble home today and I obviously opened it immediately lol! I gave it to my mum to try and she said that her hair felt more "settled" and not so messy.

So what did I think? First, let me show you what came with the package...

Ze brush in its full glory. Greeeeeeeeeeen.

A closeup shot of the logo

This is a badly cropped and resized image of the back of the brush. See-through...me likeyyyy

Closeup of the bristles...rubber

The voucher! I doubt I'll be using this and I dunno what to do with it, mum gave me "the look" when I asked her if she wanted to use it or if I could get something...lol. Yeah. THAT look. Wa bo lui (I have no money)!

A very informative letter from the boss, Roger Khor!

Last but not least, a very professional-looking business card!

So, what's my verdict? I love the brush. I tested it out-combed my hair like some obsessive vainpot and when I looked in the mirror, wow! What a difference! My hair was literally straight and it wasn't the poofy, bushy Hermione hair anymore. My hair's still very frizzy with all the stray ends sticking out everywhere but oh well, what to do. I guess I'll have to go do rebonding to fix that problem :S Which reminds me, after a few weeks of using the Sunsilk serum, I've noticed that my hair is a little bit softer and not as wild and frizzy after showers like it normally is. Still frizzy, but not Hermione frizzy.

Ok I shall stop now I sound like I'm advertising for Kent, which I'm not obviously. I'm just weird like that, getting happy over a hairbrush...lol. I haven't owned one in years, I've been using a wooden comb for quite a while and I'm beginning to think that the comb is the main culprit of my frizzy hair-or maybe my hair is just permanently damaged from dyeing it back in 2008.

GO GET THE BRUSH! It's coooooooooooooool. Kthxbai

1 Item Haul from Sasa

A few days ago, I went to SaSa looking for an eyebrow pencil since the "tails" of my eyebrows are literally nonexistent. I prefer not to go into SaSa if I can help it, because the SAs freak me out, I kid you not. They're like hawks I tell you, swooping down on prey the moment someone enters the store x_x but the SA that attented to me was quite nice (thank goodness) and she helped me test out the product. I was actually eyeing 2 eyebrow pencils, one liquid one from Canmake (Sara@icyabstract recommended it to me a while back) and one er, automatic pencil? Y'know, like the Revlon Colorstay one...

ANYWAY. I got the Cyber Colors Auto Eyebrow pen in 06 Gray Brown coz she didn't recommend the Canmake one for beginners (aka meeee!).

Verdict? I like it! It's really easy to use, much easier than using an actual eyebrow pencil for some reason. I remember the last time I tried drawing my brows with an eyebrow pencil and it was a disaster x)

Btw just a quick question, do any of you use Adobe Illustrator for Windows? I need it for my Design class and I'm not sure if the non-trial version is available online. Let me know, thanks :D

Berita terkini: my new bikini!

Lol...sorry for being lame in the title but I'm excited! I went to watch Sherlock Holmes today (brilliant mastermind! I wish I was as super observant as him) and as usual, there was a weekend bazaar along the walkway connecting the 2 malls so I decided to get my first bikini! I know, I'm 19 and I don't own one, shocker. A lot of my juniors (as in high school kids) were already flaunting their figures on the beach/by the poolside before they even turned 14. Sigh, kids these days :P I'm kidding, I'm glad I finally got one coz I'd better wear it while I can! But I very shy laaa, I've never worn such revealing clothing before hahaha >_<

Anyway, the reason why I bought the bikini was because I'm going to Pulau Langkawi with my mum for Chinese New Year! It'll be a beachy Gong Xi Fa Cai for me, yay :D I haven't been to the beach since...since...2006? I can't remember but the last time I went was when I was in high school. I fell in love with the bikini the moment I saw it! It cost RM39, which I think is an awesome deal.

I tried it on earlier and it fits me really well, yay! I can't wait to get a nice tan and soak up some sun (as if we don't have enough sun here already in Msia and Singapore eh, heh) and just relax and not worry about life in general.

So when was the last time you guys went to the beach? (Overseas or in ur own country)

I was tagged by Sara (thanks girl!)

  1. open your 1st photo folder in "My Pictures"
  2. scroll to the 10th photo
  3. post that photo on your site and write about the story behind it
  4. state who you got the tag from on your post
  5. then tag 6 blogs

But unfortunately I don't put my pictures in the "My Pictures" folder, they're all over the place in "My Documents" in separate folders haha...so I'll just pick the 10th photo from the first picture folder there...

Je te presente: My mummy! Haha xD

So anyway on to the story behind this picture, this was taken in Genting Highlands, I think it was in One World Hotel or something. Mum and I went there for 1 day 1 night and we were sitting in this cafe taking a break. I ordered THE BEST hot chocolate I've tasted so far (it came separately; hot milk and a chocolate stick so you had to stir it in, absolute yumminess) and on the bottom right, there's my empty cup :) Mum posed for this picture and I honestly have no idea why she covered her face like that haha maybe to show how cold it was? But yeah! That's it :D

I tag:

debx

heavenlygorgeous

tiarabangs

MaddyMadeline

purplio

mariamaegan

and anybody else who wants to do this!

P.S: Btw since most of my readers are Singaporean (I think la based on what I've observed), if you haven't visited Genting Highlands, do go at least once! There's a casino, an Outdoor and Indoor Theme Park and plenty of food. There's a Starbucks and Coffee Bean (if I recall) too :D Great for a day trip or 2D1N. The Theme Parks are enough to occupy you for 2 whole days, there's so much to do!

Thanks for reading :D

So I don't know what got into me, I was watching youtube videos and suddenly got the urge to play with my makeup, so I did. Here's the end result xD Quite similar to a look I did a while back, except I added dark brown into the crease/outer V. I just did my eyes and my lips FYI.

This was taken using my laptop's webcam, just to show you what it looks like without flash. (Gosh I need to start contouring my cheeks, was looking at some of my photos and realized how chubby they are)

FYI I managed to photoshop off a pimple on my right cheek. Yay! Lol.

On a journey to fix my hair!

As some of you might have noticed from my photos, I have horrible hair. For that very reason I often feel like cutting it short because it's so dry and frizzy and damaged. I get so frustrated because I want to have beautiful hair like some of my friends :( So one of my resolutions this year is to do whatever is necessary to keep my hair healthy, soft and shiny. I've never actually taken the trouble to have a "hair routine" like most girls, I just shampoo, condition and leave it at that. I guess I blow-dry it too often, I don't know...but anyway, on to the haul!

I bought this Sunsilk leave-in hair conditioner from Guardian earlier, just for the heck of it. If it doesn't work, I'll just get another one.

We'll see if it lives up to its claim eh? I'll report back in another 10 days :P But then again my expectations are very low for this because it only cost RM8 so it can't be all that good.

Any tips for healthy hair? I'm kinda desperate here :(

It's 2010!

Hey everybody! A very happy new year to all of you. It's a new beginning, with new resolutions and I'm definitely excited for my last semester of being a first year student. I should be starting 2nd year actually but because I decided to start uni in May last year, I'll only start my 2nd year this May. But as we all know, time passes REALLY quickly, so enjoy this year to the fullest! I'm going to be 20 this coming October. Oh my god. I don't feel ready to grow up and step out into this big bad world of adults :(

So, what are some of your resolutions for 2010? For me, my top 2 are to get more exercise and to socialize more! Others include getting good grades (as usual), to manage my money well, auditioning for more plays and musicals, yadayada. But this year I'm definitely going to do something about my hair! It's bloody frizzy and I'm so sick of people commenting on it all the time, so I wanna ask you girls if you have any recommendations on hair products to tame frizzy hair. I'd appreciate it!

I have a week 'til uni starts and I'm going to enjoy it before the frenzy of assignments and exams starts again. Once again, happy new year! :D
